A massive antique Anatolian olive-storage jar, as seen in part of our garden . This type of pot has been unchanged in shape from Roman times, so is difficult to date with any accuracy. The lower half has been sunk into the ground as a primitive method of cooling. The upper surface would have been lime-washed white, after the vessel was filled following each year's harvest. The largest of these standing approx 150 cm
